Rod Courtney started in the industry working for the Australian Federal Government in 1987. After joining the Australian Federal Police (AFP) in 1990 he was deployed to various teams working on complex fraud, family law and money laundering cases.

Investigations were also conducted on behalf of the United Nations, Infinite Security Solutions (Singapore and Malaysia), and Close Personal Security deployments with the AFP in Rockhampton, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide, and working in various overseas locations.

He was an AFP coordinator for the planning APEC 2007 Australia wide, and resigned from the organisation after 20 years’ service to start Adept Investigations & Security.

Contracted to a company providing high level security and close personal protection services to a billionaire family (noted on Australia’s top 20 richest persons list) residing in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. Duties included close personal protection services as required, patrols of personal properties owned by the family, ongoing assessment of security procedures and infrastructure with a view to improving already extensive monitoring and physical security of the family’s assets. Liaison with high profile (celebrity) guests and extended family whom themselves are targets of paparazzi.
